Top Places You Must See before You Die

Our world happens to be a very beautiful place and there are some really exotic locations that do deserve to be witnessed at least once before you die. These are some of the places that get featured and mentioned in nearly every other book of history and action movies, documentaries and other television shows. Moreover, they have also aroused the interest of various writers, poets and scholars from around the world, and the construction of various phrases have been inspired from them.

For example, the ancient city of Timbuktu in the middle of the desert in West Africa gave birth to the expression “from here to Timbuktu” which means into the infinite, since in days gone by, the existence of the legendary city renowned for its immense wealth, and was traversed by various trade caravans in the Sahara Desert, and is also referred to as the place of the 333 Saints. It used to be the capital of an Islamic Empire and has managed to survive the perils of time, and today happens to be a flourishing town in central Mali.

While the list of places that one could visit are endless, but here are the top 5 places that do deserve to be visited at least once in your life time.

Grand Canyon, USA

The Grand Canyon happens to be one of the major natural wonders of the world, and leaves every onlooker captivated and mesmerized by its beauty and panoramic view. The canyon was formed by the erosion by the Colorado River which has flown through it for thousands of years. The Grand Canyon in itself is truly grand, and deserves a visit by you at least once in your life time. There are a large number of hotels and lodges in the vicinity and you can reach it on donkey or horseback which can carry you down into the canyon.

Great Wall of China, China

The Great Wall of China happens to be one of the most elaborate structures to have been ever constructed by man kind, and also one of the first examples constructions at such a massive scale. While it is an urban legend that it can be seen from space, but nevertheless, the immense size of the Great Wall will leave you in wonder and bewildered. It is approximately 5000 miles long and stretches all the way from southern China into Manchuria and you can not even imagine how much labour would have been required for its construction.

Louvre, France

The Louvre happens to be one of the most famous museums of the world and houses some of the greatest masterpieces by the most famous artists of all time, and is home to the Mona Lisa. The architecture of the building in itself is extremely magnificent and is near to another famous landmark of France, the Eiffel Tower, which is also a true masterpiece of engineering and art combined.

Leaning Tower of Piza, Italy

When you think of canals and gondolas, the first place that comes into your mind is Venice. It is regarded as the most beautiful city on this planet, and has been constructed upon 100 small islands. It has been referred to in different marvelous pieces of writings and poetry known to mankind, and its majestic beauty has enthralled visitors since long. Leaning Tower of Pisa is a marvelous example of renaissance art.

Taj Mahal, India

The last place on our list happens to be a monument which enshrines the beauty of love, a love story between the emperor of a legendary empire and his ever so beautiful wife, in who’s honor he had the tomb constructed. The Taj Mahal happens to be amongst the beautiful buildings to have ever been constructed by mankind, and is a great tribute to the legend and might of the Mughal Empire. The mausoleum is located in Agra, India and in itself is a massive piece of art, with its walls adorned with beautiful calligraphy handcrafted by workers.

    Great list of places! Happy to say I have been to them all. I personally would add Glacier National Park in Montana to that list as well though.
