The MA Art Psychotherapy Practice is the qualification required to practice in the UK. "Art Psychotherapist" and "Art Therapist" are the protected titles for registration with the Health Professions Council. Because the Northern Programme is based upon the partnership of the University and the large health and social service provision of the Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust, it is able to use the combined organisational experience of higher education and service provision. Students benefit from the experience available to them in both organisations and their sense of what it means to combine theory with practice has strong foundations. The programme continues to build upon a robust practice based on a network of student placements.
