The University of Economics, Prague was founded in 1919 as the Prague College of Commerce and incorporated into the Czech University of Technology in 1929. The University of Economics is one of the largest higher education institutions in the Czech Republic. It is presently the only institution in the country to offer students a complete economic and business education at bachelor, masters and doctoral levels. With a teaching staff of 580 professors, and more than 300 support staff, the university offers a complete range of courses. The university has six faculties: Finance and Accounting, International Relations, Business Administration, Informatics and Statistics, Economics and Public Administration and Management.The culturally diverse student population of more than 14,000 come from 80 different countries every year. The University of Economics has been ranked first out of 800 universities worldwide in sending their own students abroad and third in accepting foreign students.
All courses are taught in English and are open to Czech and international students. Courses review the past and investigate the present and future of Central and Eastern European economies, examining their social and political aspects, as well as their languages and culture.Students will have access to all the University of Economics including a student ID, computer labs, libraries, study rooms, fitness center, self-service restaurant, cafeteria, grocery store and activities and sports organized by the University's Student Council. Since the majority of students at the University are Czech nationals, students have ample opportunity to meet and interact with their Czech peers. Czech and international faculty from the University of Economics, Prague will teach your language courses and electives. Periodic exams, homework assignments, and final exams will be administered. You will be in class with Czech and international students from the US, Europe, Canada, and other parts of the world.
