The Queensland Certificate in Agriculture is unique, a complete educational program which allows for direct entry into the workforce or articulation into higher-level University or Vocational Educational systems with credit.The program is open to anyone wanting a career in the agriculture, horticulture or animal industries. No OP is required; just five sound level achievements in Year 10 (must include English, Maths and a Science Subject). Special entry is available for mature age students.The program consists of four applied skills courses and four theory courses including: Applied Animal Production; Animal Studies; Applied Plant Production; Plant Studies; Applied Workplace Heath and Safety; Farm Infrastructure and Equipment; Rural Communication and Rural Business Management.Farm engineering, basic surveying, basic SI Units, buildings & structures, farm irrigation and water supplies & farmstead equipment. Graded competencies associated with building maintenance and irrigation parameters.The agricultural production environment; agricultural industries; plant structure & function; plant growth & development; crop, pasture & horticultural plant establishment & cultural practices; equipment operation, repair & maintenance. Graded competencies associated with plant propagation, crop & pasture establishment, crop & pasture cultural practices & tracotor operations.
