AmeriSpan is a good place to start. We offer opportunities throughout the world. AmeriSpan sends thousands of people of all ages to participate in language immersion, volunteer projects, internship placements and educational programs abroad. Working with more than 200 organizations throughout world, AmeriSpan's Volunteer & Internship program offers something for everyone. This is a shelter for girls who spend Monday-Friday at the shelter and return home on the weekends. In the mornings they study, but in the afternoons, the volunteers assist with activities.

Major Responsibilities

Volunteers can teach different subjects to the children in the afternoons, such as dance classes, arts, teaching English, recreational activities and handicrafts.

Skills/ Qualifications

Volunteers are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum Portuguese level: Mid-Intermediate
  • Experience working with street children
  • Lots of patience, energy, and creativity

Accommodation: Volunteers will be living in Homestay or residence.
