Working on this program, volunteers get the chance to get immersed into the lifestyle of one of the most beautiful parts of the country, whilst working with children from the ages of 2 and upwards. You will be concentrating on basic education, including literacy and math and also art and craft projects. Classes are structured and interactive with lots of different activities for the children to master. In addition to the enjoyment of volunteering on the program our location makes for wonderful opportunities to travel and explore Brazil.

Major Responsibilities

Volunteers will teach their own assigned group of children, swapping with or working with the local teacher as and when is necessary. They will usually begin their work with a previous volunteer, who they will eventually take over from. They will also be assisted by the local teacher, the GVI project manager and have full access to the teaching curriculum and materials.

Skills/ Qualifications

No skills are required as sufficient training will be provided by GVI staff. Volunteers will be working alongside GVI project managers and local teachers to ensure high leaves of safety, quality and enjoyment.

Arrangements for Room/Food

Accommodation: Volunteers will be Living in an apartment in shared rooms which is comfortable but basic. Washing facilities are available.

Food: A weekly food budget will be provided for shopping and cooking in-house.
