As much as the demand for English is on the rise around the world as more and more citizens of ALL countries wish to seek employment, Brazil is certainly no different. With floods of tourist visiting this country every year whether to participate in the stimulating festival of Carnival, the bustling streets of Rio de Janeiro , or the sparkling waters of the surrounding beaches those equipped with English language skills are seen as an invaluable asset. Furthermore, with the hospitality industry ever on the rise, English-speaking tour guides and hotel employees are in demand. IFRE collaborates with numerous organizations and language schools to teach the English language to eager citizens looking to further their education and hone their communicative skills. In addition to English, volunteers can assist in teaching a number of practical skills to Brazilians (i.e. personal hygiene, sanitation, etc.). Volunteers in these projects should be proactive individuals who enjoy making a positive, long-lasting impact on the lives of those less fortunate.
Volunteers will assist school-based educators as well as language institutes in teaching English to citizens of Brazil . Children and adults will benefit from the contributions of proficient English-speaking volunteers who are willing to dedicate their time and efforts. Volunteers help developing conversational English-skills as well as developing learning activities to encourage the younger learners' participation and interests. Volunteer will also support teachers who are already in the process of instructing Brazilian children within an English-teaching curriculum. Administrative duties of schools, language institutes may be required of volunteers as well. Educating the younger learners pertaining to issues of personal hygiene and sanitation may also be required.

With easy access to public transportation, volunteers have this world-class city at their fingertips. Within these accommodations, volunteers have numerous amenities such as: television, a kitchen, internet services, laundry, etc. Detailed housing information will be provided before volunteers arrive in Rio de Janeiro .
