There can be no better place to volunteer on a football placement than Brazil - winners of the football world cup a record five times and known by locals simply as ‘the football country’. Many Brazilian children live for football and it is by far the favourite pastime of youngsters found playing in the streets. For some talented children football offers an escape from poverty, keeping them away from entering gangs or getting involved in drugs, and giving them opportunities to develop pride and team skills, keeping them fit and healthy. Most of all it gives the children a chance to socialise and have some fun.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so there is no firm deadline for applications. Some countries and projects require at least three months to process an application, arrange for visas, and advise you properly on how to prepare. Other countries can be processed in as little as three weeks. Whenever you are thinking of traveling, we encourage you to apply as early as possible. Having more time to prepare makes it easier for you to fundraise, and for us to advise you on preparations. It also makes more options available for tailoring a program to your individual interests and preferences.
