Volunteer Abroad in Georgia

Located south of the Greater Caucasus Mountains that divide Georgia from Russia's North Caucasian Republics, and having experienced a cultural boom period in terms of literature, philosophy, architecture, arts and science the 1000s, Georgia is a unique country with its own classical history. The mountains that served to keep outsiders outside helped the country to evolve in its own right while keeping out foreign advances. Once a part of the USSR, Georgia gained its freedom in 1991, but due to its remoteness and internal strife, has struggled to place itself on the tourism map.

Volunteering in Georgia is an excellent way to serve the country. It presents opportunities to explore this great country and thoroughly experience its culture in a different way. Volunteer opportunities in Georgia includes: working in an orphanage, teaching English, working in healthcare projects, and supporting many local non-profit organizations.
