Various placements are available for pre-med students looking to gain experience in a clinic setting in urban West Africa. Successful volunteers will have the chance to work closely with staff at a local private clinic in the capital city Accra or Kumasi. Volunteers can expect some flexibility but will ultimately work and job shadow staff as they are available. The clinic is moderately busy with an estimated 200 patients seen daily.

Skills Required:

• Be a pre-med or medical student
• Previous experience working in a clinic or hospital setting
• Possess exceptional communication (writing, speaking and listening)
• Understanding, open-minded and respectful of different cultural practices
• Able to adapt quickly to new situations
• Comfortable working with diverse clients

Food: The project cost bears the main meals and for further other additional food the volunteer has to pay through his own pocket.

Accommodation: The AndyGlo Foundation manages the entire accommodation and supervision during the project period. The volunteer will be entitled to a room in host family with normal standards depending upon the project and it location.
