Concordia seeks to bring people together, offering opportunities to live, work and socialize with people from countries all round the world. On a typical project volunteers can expect to learn words in different languages, try out recipes from around the world , share music, photos and games, and generally develop a wider cultural understanding. This forms worldwide links, breaks down barriers (including communication barriers) and can even bring together people from conflict areas, creating bridges of peace through personal contact, communication and shared experiences. . The aim of this project is orientated to renovating and reconstructing some areas of an elementary school that need to be improved.

Volunteers will help with activities to renovate, maintain and enhance the school, through different tasks such as setting a roof (in the playground), restoring the school's library; restoring the playground, restoring green areas. All the tasks will be supported by the children's parents and the local families. Volunteers could also contribute to the children's education through giving some dance lessons, in order to show the national dances of their countries, or other dances.

No specific skills are required. But a working knowledge of Spanish is appreciated.

Note: Volunteers must also complete a training course to participate in this project. They can also take the Intensive Spanish Language Course that we offer in our camps a week before you go to your camp. If you are interested in taking the course, please email us for it. Cost is 150 Euros.
