Hope of Children and Women Victims of Violence(H.O.C.W) provides opportunities for international volunteers to participate in the community programs on both long term and short term basis in order to improve the life of victims of violence especially refugees coming from different countries like DRCongo, Sudan,Burundi, Ethiopia,Somalia and those in Uganda. Volunteers live in Zzana on Entebbe Road and work directly with refugee community, providing mutual benefits to both refugee community and volunteers (personal satisfaction). Sustainability and self-sufficiency are one of the greatest gifts an organization can provide. Income generating projects help pull out of dependency.
- Major Responsibilities

Volunteers are expected for home visit to the women affected with HIV/AIDS as well doing conseilling and also talk to those who were traumatised due to the violence they went through at home. Also teach them how they can live with or without HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other communicable disease. This is done by conducting seminars or by home visit.

Volunteers with a background in helath sector and in counseling are welcome.
- Arrangements for Room/Food
Accommodation: Volunteer can expect to share a room with one other volunteer of the same gender. Bed linen ,pillowcase and towels are not provided .Volunteer do have to bring their own mosquito nets. The house has electricity,running water, toilet,shower and bath .You provide your own toilet paper. Food: Volunteer are served three meals a day, Breakfast , Lunch and dinner. Breakfast: Volunteer can expect to be served Chapatti,(pancake)fruit,porridge,bread,egg,coffe and tea. Lunch: Normally consist of vegetables,rice,kidneybeans,potatoes,fruit Dinner: Volunteeers are served meat or fish, vegetables,potatoes,rice kidney beans, traditional dishes . If a volunteer has another special diet requirements has to let the volunteer coordinator to know.
