Project Review

VENUSA has arrangements with various U.S. universities through which it offers summer study abroad programs. The summer study abroad programs are offered in two terms. Each term is six weeks in length and has the same basic structure as the study abroad programs during the semester and academic year. Students may earn up to 10 credits and will receive a transcript from the University of Minnesota. New York students and/or residents may receive a transcript from STATE UNIVERSITY NEW YORK CORTLAND. There is no minimum Spanish language requirement as VEN-USA College offers courses at all levels.  Students also have the opportunity to earn a trip to the Caribbean Coast during their stay. Total immersion means that the student is communicating directly in Spanish from the first hour of class. Immersion is, undoubtedly, both the most challenging and most rewarding way to learn to speak a new language. This is largely due to the fact that the linguistic shifting back and forth, which is inherent in translation, is completely avoided. Additionally, students learn within a cultural context and reinforce their lessons by putting what they learn into immediate practice in their everyday lives.
