We conduct a program of teaching Spoken English and other subjects to Burmese Refugee children in Mae Sot, Thailand. The main aim behind this project is to present the experience of schooling to displaced Myanmar Kids just inside the Thai border. Children come and go, so spoken English, maths and other subjects are taught through all sorts of fun activities and games etc. A very real experience.

Both individual volunteers with no special experience or training and those with related experience, expertise or proven interest are eligible to apply. Other than that, we do not require any specific skills or qualifications. Everyone is welcome to work with us and build a better community.
Accommodation: Volunteers can manage an accommodation of their own (such as guesthouses and hotels) at their own expense or if they wish to stay with a host family, we can arrange for a host family too.
Food: Food would be provided to you by the host family itself or in the hotel where you would stay. Food would comprise of normal meals thrice a day at least.
Placement Costs: Accommodation either at school with Staff and some orphans - food contribution 600 Bht per week. Accommodation at the school is basic, and volunteers need to expect to use drop-toilets and sleep on the floor (you are welcome to take a blow-up mattress or buy one there);
or sleep at a good Backpackers in town - 20 minutes walk (950 Bht per week for room with bathroom) and eat at school (600 Bht per week).
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas. IVI can assist your with visa applications for Thailand.
Note: All volunteers wanting to participate in this placement are required to submit a police report which clears them for participation in activities with minors.
