Research on your country of destination<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This, of course, is always a must when going to a new and\nunfamiliar location. Make sure to do at least a little bit of research on the\nlocals\u2019 culture\nand lifestyle<\/a>. What language do they speak? What can be acceptable to your\ncountry, but possibly offensive to them? What religion do they practice? Are\nthere any major happenings in the country you should be aware of?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a good idea to check in on the climate and weather<\/a> on the date of\nyour stay. Daily weather may be unpredictable but you should at least have an\nidea of what types of clothes to pack. Doing your research early on will help\nyou be well prepared for your trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Online reviews are your best friends<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Not sure if\nthis activity\/landmark you have in mind is worth checking out? Run to online\nreviews for help. Reviews can save you from wasting time, money, and a rare\ntraveling opportunity on disappointing activities or places. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During your\nplanning stage, visit platforms like TripAdvisor<\/a>\nand Yelp<\/a>. You’ll find helpful insights there\nfrom tourists who’ve visited\/tried this particular activity or landmark you’re\neyeing for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes,\nyou’ll also find gems there to make your experience better. Stuff like what’s the best time to visit or try them\nout<\/em>, where to get the best spot for\nphotos<\/em>, and even tips on how to save\nbucks and still get the full five-star experience<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prepare your travel documents<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You have to get all your travel\ndocuments<\/a> ready before you can go on that flight, so make sure you don\u2019t\nmiss out on anything! Check if you will be needing a visa on your country of\ndestination. If not, check how many days or weeks you are allowed to stay\nwithout a visa and if your planned route doesn\u2019t exceed the number of days you\nhave allocated for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you need a visa, get one as early as you can, keeping in\nmind how long it\u2019s going to be valid. Have a photocopy of your passport and\nother important documents handy. This will be of help when you suddenly lose or\ndamage your passport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
