You\u2019ll travel in style around this grand\ncity in vaporetti: anarmada of boats capable of shuttling passengers down the\nGrand Canal or around the island. There are specific routes, although tourists\nmostly use Lines #1 and #2, which go up and down the Grand Canal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Buy individual tickets (7.50 Euros) or the better value day passes (starts at 20 Euro) at tobacco shops, news stands or anywhere you see the ACTV logo. Load your ticket onto a plastic card, and hop on a for a gentle ride with stellar views. An evening ride is also a memorable experience, with the city all lit up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Smart tourists time their rides to avoid busy periods. Boats heading to the end of the line (St. Mark\u2019s Square) in the morning will be packed. And boats going back to the mainland (to the train station) at the end of the day are also frequently full.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you\u2019re in a hurry, have plenty of money or just want the experience of zipping across the canal in a motorboat, then try a water taxi<\/a>.
