Overview

Immerse yourself in French culture in one (or several) of IPSL partner communities in France. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced French speaker, IPSL programs are designed to help you achieve fluency while fostering global connections. All programs provide university-level credit. Connect with communities, contribute meaningfully, and deepen your understanding of local cultures.

Aix-en-Provence was founded by the Romans and is known for its artistic legacy, particularly the works of Paul Cézanne. The city is an intriguing blend of history, charm, and vibrancy where old-world elegance meets a modern, lively atmosphere. You'll find a mix of old-world palaces and fountains as well as bustling pedestrian zones with a mix of cafes, shops, and markets.

Annecy located in the French Alps, is famous for its picturesque lake, canals, and charming old town. Nicknamed the “Venice of the Alps” its beauty lies in the blend of natural splendor and historical charm. Be captivated while learning French in this town full of romantic ambiance.

Bordeaux, a UNESCO World Heritage city and the heart of France’s most famous wine region, is described as a city of art, history, and exquisite taste. You’ll find architectural gems, a vibrant culture, and world-renowned wines. The city’s nickname, “La Belle Endormie” (Sleeping Beauty) hints at its tranquil beauty.

Lyon is a captivating city nestled between the Rhône and Saône rivers. It is renowned for its rich history, vibrant culture, and delicious cuisine. It’s a place where ancient architecture brings the Roman Empire and the Renaissance to mind, while modern cafes and bustling markets pulse with contemporary life. Lyon is a feast for the senses!

Montpellier, in southern France, blends historical charm with vibrant, youthful energy. Its streets are picturesque and steeped in history while its lively squares and modern districts showcase its progressive spirit. It is known for its sunny Mediterranean climate and proximity to the sea. A great destination for those seeking a blend of tradition and contemporary life.

Toulouse, in southwestern France, is called the “Pink City” and is known for its blend of architectural charm, vibrant history, and modern innovation. Its unique terracotta buildings give off a pinkish tone that creates a romantic and picturesque atmosphere, while its lively university scene and thriving aerospace industry contribute to a dynamic, cosmopolitan feel.

Each city offers a perfect setting for language and cultural learning.
