Overview
Do you work in the medical field or study medicine and looking for valuable international medical experience? Do you dream of visiting beautiful Cambodia and give back to the communities in need? Cambodia had been recovering from its violent past and has made improvement in many sectors. However, people from low socio-economic background in Cambodia still struggle with basic access to healthcare. They are unable to afford treatment and medications, and suffer from medical issues which can be easily treated. Moreover, due to lack of knowledge about health and disease prevention measures, many Cambodians also suffer from easily curable diseases.
As a volunteer, you will be working in government funded hospitals and community clinics. Your duties will vary depending on your qualification and expertise. Your general duties will include supporting the activating at the hospitals under the guidance of doctors and other medical staffs. Your will also be responsible for monitoring the patients and taking their vitals, maintaining their records and providing health advice. You will also shadow and observe the work of the local medical staffs. Your work in this program will provide you with a rewarding volunteering experience as well a practical experience in medical field. You will get a valuable opportunity to observe medical professionals at work, enhance your knowledge and develop new skills. The medical help you will provide to the Cambodians in need will make a vast difference in their lives, improve their overall health and also save lives.
Important Information
Volunteers below the age of 18 years will need to submit parental consent or must be accompanied by an adult guardian. You need to be a pre-med student, nursing or medical student or have a professional background in Medical or Healthcare for this program.
