Are you dreaming of taking a trip to the beautiful country of Costa Rica and empower disadvantaged children by sharing your English language skill?
Work as a volunteer English teacher in Costa Rica and help improve the English skills of deprived Costa Rican children. This is an amazing opportunity to gain real-world teaching experience for you. Due to extreme poverty, lack of affordable educational institutions, thousands of children in the poorer areas are being deprived of English education. The community schools have over 40 students in a class with unmotivated teachers. Therefore, there is a constant need of volunteers like you to make the class size smaller, grow curriculum and implement fun-filled, interactive teaching methods.
This project offers disadvantaged Costa Rican children enjoyable learning opportunities and invites volunteers from around the world. After being part of this teaching project, you will help the students with forming recreational activities like arts, music, sports, etc. You can work in the Kindergarten/Pre-school/Crèche schools, Primary schools, or Secondary schools based on your preference. No prior experience is needed to join this project. However, you should have a strong command in the English language.
If you speak Spanish, it’ll be highly beneficial to you as an English teacher volunteer in Costa Rica. If you cannot, we highly recommend you enroll in Spanish language classes. We offer them while you volunteer so it’s super convenient for you and will really assist you in working with the kids.

My life in Costa Rica
I am a 17 year-old Guatemalan teenager, who had a unique and extraordinary experience in Costa Rica. The kiddos were amazing, and very eager to learn. The host family was very attentive and friendly.
After finishing my classes, I had to opportunity to visit some museums and shopping malls. During the weekend I booked some tours through Tropical Tours (awarded by TripAdvisor), and have a wonderful time with the wildlife of Costa Rica.
I plan to retour to Costa Rica in a near future. Highly recommended.
