Overview
We aim to offer our volunteers a more affordable volunteer experience, while still providing a life changing experience. We make it our mission to ensure that every volunteer has a great experience in El Salvador while here at Surf Strong. Volunteers that choose to stay onsite at Surf Strong, will receive 3 meals a day, a bed in a shared room, and access to our amenities and surf equipment. Our house includes a full kitchen, perfect open space for a morning yoga or pilates session, wifi, an in-ground pool, and has three surf breaks right out front.
In addition to the great set-up, our volunteers have the opportunity to get the experience they are looking for. Whether you would like to be involved in programming activities, teaching English, or working with kids, we have plenty of ways to make that happen. We promise that you will not spend your day behind a desk making photocopies! Additionally, if you bring any talents or skills, we would love to incorporate those into the participant's experience; bring your guitar, your skateboard, your paintbrushes and you can teach the kids your skill!
Our volunteers are extremely important in what we do, providing the participants interaction with individuals from other countries and cultures. Language is no barrier here, as the kids are encouraged to practice their English, and each volunteer is an incentive to the participants to practice and pay attention in their English studies. Additionally, each volunteer is proof to the participants that life is an opportunity to learn and expand your knowledge, no matter your age. If you are learning to surf, learning Spanish, or learning a different culture, you are a role model for our participants. Finally, the more foreigners that our participants have the ability to interact with, the more they learn that no matter what country you hail from, no matter your native tongue, hue of your skin, we are above all, human. Not one better than the next.
