Overview

Are you looking for an Albanian adventure? If that's the case, you've come to the right place! This 8-day trip combines discovery, culture, adventure, and fun in Albania. Discover the spectacular scenery, delectable cuisine, turquoise blue seas, rich cultural history, and welcoming locals!

  • Day 1 - Arrival

You will be welcomed by a member of our staff and accompanied to the hotel where you will be staying the first night. Depending on the time of your arrival, we will explore the city.

A city since 1614 and the capital of Albania since 1920, Tirana is the country's main cultural hub. Discover a city famous for the colourful facades of its buildings and the harmony between the various religions in the country.

Time permitting, we will visit the National Museum located on Skanderbeg Square, which will be a nice introduction to the rich Albanian history! Close to this square, we will be able to see the mosque "Et'hem Bey", which has been preserved even during the communist era for its historical value, the opera, the clock tower and the palace of culture. We will then discover the superb Orthodox Cathedral as well as the Catholic Cathedral. You will also see the pyramid (the Museum of the former dictator, Enver Hoxha).

  • Day 2 - Berat

Early in the morning we will leave for the National Park of Divjaka. Once there, we will bike ride for about 3 hours to the lagoon of Karavasta. This lagoon is home to different species of birds, including the Dalmatian pelican, which you may be able to spot.

After lunch, we will leave for the city of thousands of windows, Berat. UNESCO has listed this city as a World Heritage Site. We'll visit the little streets of the Mangalemi neighbourhood, a quarter also known as “kala” (castle), as well as the museum of a famous 14th-century painter.

Overnight stay in a house converted into a hotel.

  • Day 3 - Gjirokastra

Today, we will go to Gjirokastra in southern Albania, a city is full of distinctive districts and shaded terraces. But its main touristic sites are the ethnographic museum and its citadel, which will take us back in time and through the history of Albania.

Gjirokastra city is on the UNESCO World Heritage list and has retained its characteristic “old Albanian houses” architecture. It is in one of these that we will stay for the night.

  • Day 4 - Butrint

Today we continue the journey with a visit to Butrint, which is near the Greek border. Butrint is an ancient Greek city that has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1992. Here, you will discover a historic landmark, an open ancient city showing of centuries of human occupation.

Late in the afternoon, we will drive to Saranda, where you can enjoy the promenade of the city and a fish dish menu.

  • Day 5 - Kayak along the Albania River

After breakfast, we will get on the bus and drive along Albanian Riviera for about one hour. We will reach the bay of Livadhi where we will prepare for kayaking.

After a brief instruction on kayaking from our guide, we will set out to explore the Albanian Riviera for about two and a half hours. Some stops on the way to the bay of Gjipe will make the day more interesting. The bay of Gjipe is home to one of the most beautiful beaches of the Albanian Riviera.

We may explore the Canyon of Gjipe in the afternoon or we may do some more kayaking.

  • Day 6 - Llogara National Park

This morning we will start the day with a short walk before we get on the bus and head towards the Llogara National Park.

After checking in to our accommodation in a hotel inside the park, we will take a picnics and head out for a hike of around 3 hours.

  • Day 7 - Tirana

After breakfast, we will continue our journey towards the capital city of Albania.

Today there are a few optional activities including a visit to BunkArt or taking the cable car up Dajti Mountain. There you can enjoy the view of Tirana.

In the evening, we recommend that you enjoy the nightlife of the capital in the district of Bllok. Once reserved for the communist nomenclature, it is now a trendy neighbourhood where you can find a nice restaurant or party at one of the numerous clubs.

  • Day 8 - Departure

This is the last day of your trip to Albania. One of our agents will accompany you to the airport according to your flight schedule. We hope you had a great time during your visit and that you will come back to Albania one again!
