- Day 1 - FULL DAY (FROM PUNTA ARENAS)-14 hours
The day will begin at 04:00 am, meeting at our meeting point to leave for Punta Carrera 50km south of Punta Arenas, where you will embark to begin the navigation through the Strait of Magellan at around 05:30 am. Just a few kilometers away we will be in front of P uerto de Hambre and Fuerte Bulnes, both National Historical Monuments, then by the San Isidro Lighthouse, the last lighthouse on the American continent that also has this categorization. The navigation continues south until reaching Bouchage Bay, where a stop will be made to disembark passengers, at the Cabo Froward lodge, after this stop they will pass through Cabo Froward , where it is located ''the cross of the seas '' in the last border of the American continent.
The trip continues, entering Cape Holland and the first Marine Protected Area of Chile, the Francisco Coloane Marine Park, where there is a great biological diversity of aquatic vertebrates such as sea lions, petrels, cormorants, southern dolphins, etc. This area is the only feeding site for the humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) that is located outside the Antarctic waters, where the whales arrive with their young every summer.
Also in this same park, a reproductive colony of Magellanic penguins (Spheniscus magellanicus) is located, Rupert Island being the preferred place for these birds. Then they will pass through the English Pass and Shag Pass where, in addition to being able to see marine diversity, they will also be able to enjoy the beauty of the pristine landscape surrounded by mountains and dense subantarctic temperate forests.
Finally, they will enter the Helado Sound where they will be able to be in front of the Helado Glacier to finish the day by returning to Punta Carrera at about 2:15 p.m. and arriving in Punta Arenas at 6:00 p.m.
