Overview
The traditional town of Otavalo is located in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, about two hours north of Quito. On this tour, visit the famous Otavalo Market and Cotocachi Leather Market, shop for traditional handicrafts and souvenirs, and stop at local beauty spots like Peguche Waterfalls or Cuicocha Lake.
- Day 1 - Daily Tour
We leave Quito at 7:00 am, we go down the avenue of the volcanoes until we reach the Quitsato sundial, in which the natives of the area will teach us the different uses that the indigenous people gave to the sundial, then we will go through the lagoon San Pablo where we will be able to observe the Imbabura volcano, later we will visit the indigenous market of Otavalo where we will be able to know the crafts that those who live in the area make, we can take photos or buy some crafts.
Afterwards we will go to the leather market in Cotacachi, in the same way we will have time to take photos and buy leather things, then we will go to the Cuicocha lagoon where we can take a boat to go around the islands that are in the lagoon , we will return to Quito and the tour ends.
