Overview
Join our after-school club, empowering 70–90 local children daily (in 2025). Volunteer now to inspire young minds, create impact, and grow wildly passionate young people.
Join our vibrant immersive experience at Nourish Eco Village, where you'll engage in hands-on work across impactful conservation, education, and community development programs.
Environmental Education & Hands-On Learning
Since 2016, our Environmental Education program work daily with local primary school children, teaching conservation and taking them on field trips to connect with nature. In 2025, across our three locations, we are supporting over 400 children with Environmental Education—empowering the next generation to protect our planet!
As a volunteer, you'll play a key role in our Green Kidz environmental education program, teaching local primary school children about conservation. Your day will include preparing for lessons, creating content like activities, games and presentations, and engaging with the children in activities that connect them to nature. You’ll also supervise their projects and field trips (if available), ensuring that they learn in an interactive and meaningful way.
Support Our Broader Programs
In addition to working with the Green Kidz program, you’ll have the opportunity to support other initiatives that are all based on the same property:
Early Childhood Development: Assist with our Rise creches, helping young children develop early skills.
Entrepreneurship & Social Enterprise: Support small local businesses through our incubator programs.
Agro-Ecology & Sustainable Farming: Engage in training and projects aimed at sustainable farming practices, tailored to African conditions.
Eco Village Outreach: Participate in recycling programs and other eco-friendly initiatives within the surrounding community.
Cultural Exchange & Immersion
This is more than just a volunteer program—it’s a chance to immerse yourself in local culture. Learn the Tsonga language, join our staff at church (free & optional), and experience traditional village events (when available). It’s a unique way to connect with the local community and broaden your cultural understanding.
Explore & Unwind
Weekends are yours to explore the stunning landscapes of the area. We can arrange excursions to Kruger National Park, the Panorama Route, and more (additional cost), so you can unwind while discovering the beauty of South Africa.
Come make a real impact while immersing yourself in a vibrant culture, gaining new skills, and creating lifelong memories.

Nourish Volunteer!!
Fantastic experience - travelling from Australia to South Africa was well worth it purely for Nourish. Staff were great - professional and fun. Shout out Donald, the volunteer supervisor - our time would not have been the same without you. Meeting volunteers from diverse backgrounds was awesome, and the activities Nourish provided/organised (such as horse ride safari, weekly town trips, and a weekend at Kruger) were unforgettable (and stress free!). Our volunteering time was spent with the green kids afterschool program, on-site crèche, local outreach, and harvesting/planting chilies on the farm. Our stay at Shik Shack (Nourish backpackers) was wayyy too short - will be back in the future and hopefully for a longer time :)

Had an amazing time
As a volunteer I really had a great time at nourish. I felt very welcome and I am grateful for this time. I really enjoyed working on the Green Kidz program. Working with the children was very rewarding work. Also all the other projects were amazing. The work nourish does is really important for the community and it was great being a part of that. Also i found it very interesting to see how the people live in the villages.
The people at Nourish and shik shack play a big part in this positive experience, everyone was very lovely.
