Meet Cape Kolka – The Meeting Place of Two Seas
Cape Kolka is a meeting place created by nature. Seas and people meet here. Cape is constantly reshaped by the winds and sea waters making us really appreciate the power of nature. Use your free time to calmly enjoy this speacial seaside by walking, relaxing on the beach or even climbing up the obserwation tower overlooking the Baltic sea. Cape Kolka area for many years was rulled by the Soviet army. This was militarized zone with very limited access and even shore cannons were built. Cannons are not there anymore, but some concrete structures on which they were located still stand and can be visited by those who are interested in this history.Walk the impressive white dune trail of Pūrciems
A short walk through green and nicely scent pine tree forest is taking to the top of ~20 meter high and 6000 years old massive dune. Beautiful view on the sea and beach opens up in front of our eyes from the top of this human hand untouched place. The vicinity of the dune is captivating both because of its primeval nature and its history - the first Stone Age settlement on the northwest shore of Latvia was found here. A special path was constructed to allow people to enjoy this archaeological monument of national importance in full. It is a special path along the banks of the Pilsupīte River.Enjoy the view from Ēvaži Steep and nature trail
