Overview
Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most delightful and fascinating destinations in the Annapurna Region of Nepal. It's probably the 2nd most popular and preferred trekking route in Nepal. The trek takes you to the base camp (4130 m) of Annapurna I (8091m) and it's the 10th tallest peak in the world. Along the trails, gets an opportunity to explore the Poon Hill Viewpoint, Authentic Gurung villages, various landscapes, Rhododren forests, ABC, MBC, Jhinu hot spring, and spectacular valleys.
The 10 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek offers a classic thrilling hike, biodiversity of ethnic cultures, and vegetation with stunning the massive Annapurna Himalayas. Off the beaten trail, a true cultural trekking experience with classic Nepalese trails and plenty of ups and downs. Less than 2 Weeks in Nepal is enough to complete the whole trip to Annapurna Base Camp.

- Day 1 - Drive to Pokhara by tourist A/C Bus (820 m) 8 Hours
Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts with an exciting overland drive on the busy highway to reach scenic Pokhara. On reaching Pokhara transfer to respective hotels by the beautiful Phewa Lake where most of the hotels are located. (For interested people can take a short scenic flight to Pokhara of 30 minutes).
- Day 2 - Drive from Pokhara to the starting point of the trek at Bhirethati and walk to Tirkhedhunga 1,460 m- 05 hrs.
A short drive to Nayapul a city full of scenic beauty located on the laps of Annapurna Himalaya. On reaching the starting point of the trek, where the adventure begins with a climb of a few hours to reach at Tirkhedhunga, a farm village with beautiful waterfalls located on the bottom of Ulleri hill.
- Day 3 - Trek to Ghorepani 2,880 m-07 Hours
The morning starts with a steep long climb on stone steps to reach at large Ulleri village, and then on a nice gradual winding path with dense rhododendron and pine forest to reach at Ghorepani, a lovely village amid lovely coniferous forest located on the base of Poon Hill.
- Day 4 - Hike to Poon Hill 3,210 and trek to Tadapani 2,630 m – 06 Hours
Early morning before dawn hike for an hour to Poon Hill to catch stunning sunrise views over the Himalayan range of peaks from Dhaulagiri, Annapurna as far towards Manaslu with majestic Machhapuchare the fish-tail peak.
Enjoying a glorious morning with fantastic views, the trek continues from Ghorepani with ups and downhill within dense rhododendron forest to reach a small settlement of Tadapani for an overnight halt.
- Day 5 - Trek to Chomrong village 2,170 m -06 Hours
From Tadapani morning an easy downhill walks through a forest of rhododendron, pines, and oak tree lines to reach by the river, which flows from the glacier of Annapurna South peak.
Cross a bridge with an hour climb above Kimrong River valley, and then on a nice gradual trail to reach at Chomrong, a large Gurung village festooned with Buddhist prayer flags on each house. Chomrong the gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp, as well as the last permanent village on Annapurna base camp, enjoy an overnight stop in a nice lodge with time to browse around the village.
- Day 6 - Trek to Dovan 2,630 m via Bamboo – 06 Hours
After a pleasant overnight halt in Chomrong, morning short down to a river and then climb to reach at a hilltop of Sinuwa danda. From here walk on a gradual path within a forest of tall rhododendron, pines, and oak trees, then descend to reach Modi River gorge at Bamboo a small nice settlement with several simple lodges amidst thick bamboo grooves.
After a short rest at Bamboo continue to walk uphill into the forest to reach at Dovan, located in a gorge above Modi River, with a few nice simple lodges for an overnight halt.
- Day 7 - Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3, 800 m – 06 Hours
From Dovan morning walk with short down and ups into thick tree lines as you reach a small place called Himalaya Hotel, near to huge Hinko Cave and then reach Deurali, where tree lines drop for smaller bush and shrubs.
After the possible lunch stop, continue to walk as the route leads further with steep up to Machhapuchare Base Camp, in short MBC located just beneath the towering North West Face of Machhapuchare Himal. The famous Fish-Tail, a mountain with twin summit tops appears a shape of a fishtail, a lovely spot 4-5 good simple lodge for an overnight stop. Which is also the start of the scenic Annapurna Sanctuary.
Enjoy an overnight stop in the comfort of a nice cozy lodge facing views of Fish Tail and Annapurna-I in the west direction.
- Day 8 - Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m – 03 hrs.
Morning short walk of a few hours to reach Annapurna base camp our final goal and highlight of the adventure. As climb starts taking less than an hour to enter Annapurna Sanctuary. Located on a plateau surrounded by a series of snow peaks on both sides of the trail and then end the walk of the day on reaching at Annapurna base camp.
The highest point of the trek and a picturesque place within remorseless fields of ice and glaciers enclosed within a towering mountain range with Annapurna-I that rises above the base camp.Afternoon at leisure for a short hike, or just relax and enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the Annapurna range of massive peaks that surrounds you at base camp.
- Day 9 - Trek to Bamboo 2,345 m – 07 Hours
Enjoy breakfast with the backdrop of massive Annapurna Himalayan peaks, return journey on the same interesting route to reach at Deurali, on leaving the sanctuary as the walk enters back into dense green vegetation and tall tree lines entering into a gorge and following Modi River downstream to Bamboo for an overnight stop.
- Day 10 - Trek to Jhinu Village 1,780 m – 06 Hours
Morning from bamboo with a short climb and then on a gradual winding path to Sinuwa Danda, and then down to Chomrong river as climb leads on stone steps to reach Chomrong.
At Chomrong for a lunch stop, and continue to walk down to a nice small village at Jhinu for an overnight stop, a place with natural hot spring pools by the Modi River where you can refresh yourself.
- Day 11 - Trek to the road head and drive to Pokhara 860 m -03 hrs.
The last day trek of the adventure is a short walk down to reach on a road head for an exciting drive back to scenic Pokhara city, on reaching Pokhara by the Phewa Lakeside, where most good hotels are located. Enjoy the afternoon in Pokhara after checking into a nice hotel, facing grand views of Annapurna and Manaslu Himalaya range with majestic Machhapuchare Himal.
- Day 12 - Drive back to Kathmandu by A/C Tourist bus (1350 m) 8 Hours
Enjoying time in lovely Pokhara with glorious views, morning depart for Kathmandu with an interesting overland drive to Kathmandu after a grand time at Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking. In Kathmandu afternoon is free for individual activities and shopping for souvenirs.

Important Information
Dear adventure fellows, if you are planning to do the trek in Nepal upcoming days should well prepare and make sure of the necessary trekking gear list. We would like to inform you what types of equipment are needed for trekking in Nepal. If you don’t have any trekking equipment, you can buy or hire all necessary trekking equipment in Kathmandu and Pokhara. When you arrived in Kathamndu we will assist you to reconcile the gears before going to trek. Moreover, without enough gear very tough to complete the trip.
Below is the checklist of equipment you need for the trek.
Travel documents: passport, visa, travel insurance, air tickets, voucher, and passport-sized photos.
Duffel Bag & Company T-shirt: We supply complimentary duffel/Company T-shirts, but one extra big duffel bag is necessary for non-trek goods left at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Sleeping Bag: Nepal High Trek will supply a complimentary down jacket that needs to be returned after the trek.
