Overview

The Annapurna Circuit Trek is a famous hiking adventure in Nepal that takes you around the stunning Annapurna Massif. This trek offers amazing views, challenging paths, and a chance to experience local culture. The highlight of the trek is the Thorong La Pass, a high mountain pass at 5,416 meters (17,769 feet) above sea level.

The Annapurna Circuit trail, also known as the Annapurna Trail or Route, provides a variety of landscapes and experiences. You'll see lush green valleys, terraced fields, and rugged alpine terrain, making every step a beautiful sight. You'll also visit traditional villages, where you can learn about local culture and experience the hospitality of the Nepalese people.

Over the course of 13 days, the Annapurna Circuit Trek unfolds a mesmerizing journey. Starting in Kathmandu, we set off to Besisahar. As we trek, the landscape transforms from lush forests to terraced fields, leading us to Chame. The following days take us through Pisang, allowing for acclimatization in the Manang Valley. We hike to the awe-inspiring Ice Lake, visit the ancient Braga Monastery, and prepare for the formidable Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters, reaching Muktinath. The journey continues to Kagbeni, and we unwind in the natural hot springs of Tatopani. As we ascend to Ghorepani, Poon Hill treats us to an unforgettable sunrise. The trek concludes as we descend to Nayapul and take a scenic drive to Pokhara, marking the end of a remarkable 13-day Annapurna Circuit adventure.

  • Day 1 - Arrive in Kathmandu

    You will be entering Kathmandu, and our agents will be plucking you up at the airport and accompanying you to a motel near Thamel. You can unwind yourself from all the jetlags for some time and have your meal on time. Our agents may stroll you around the Thamel area where you can buy some souvenirs. After that, we will serve you authentic Nepali cuisine as your supper. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  • Day 2 - Sightseeing around the Kathmandu

    Maximum Altitude: Kathmandu (1400m/ 4593.17 ft.)

    Meal: Breakfast

    You will be eating your breakfast and commence your day. Then your trek guide will take you for a visit to different and famous places around the valley. You will observe ancient and historical temples and buildings, some heritage sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa. You will have a pre-consultation with our agents and tour guide in the evening.

    The day also marks for last trek preparation. There are nearby markets where you can visit and buy some trekking gear as per your requirement. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 3 - Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar by local bus

    Traveled Distance: 175.5km

    Maximum Altitude: Besisahar (760m / 2492ft)

    Trek Duration: 5 to 6 hours

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    From Kathmandu, you will travel to Besisahar today. The journey from Kathmandu takes about 6 hours. During this voyage, the public vehicle will make a few brief stops. A complimentary mineral water bottle is not included in the ticket price, as it is on the tourist bus. Although the road is not in good condition, you will get the opportunity to see the Nepalese countryside and paddy fields.

  • Day 4 - Drive from Besisahar to Chame by local sharing jeep

    Traveled Distance: 65.7 km

    Maximum Altitude: Chame (2,670m / 8,890ft)

    Trek Duration: 4-5 hrs.

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Today we will head to Chame from Besisahar. After the B/F, we commence our hike through the woods with pine, fir, oak, and maple trees along the rustling Marsyangdi river and lead to Chame. Chame is the headquarter of the Manang region. And throughout the Trek now, we can witness the glittering view of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and IV. We will also come over to small hot springs to rest for a while—en-route lunch. Then, dinner and overnight stay in the guest lodge at Chame.

  • Day 5 - Trek from Chame to Upper Pisang

    Traveled Distance: 16.5 km

    Maximum Altitude: Pisang (3,115 m/ 10219.21ft)

    Trek Duration: 5 to 6 hours

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Early morning B/F. Today we will hike through a steep and slim valley to the massive wall of rock called Paungada Danda, a rock face regarded as sacred to the local people. From there, we could see the clear glistening panoramas of Annapurna II at the south and Pisang Peak to the northeast. Then, we decline to the Manang valley floor. En-route Lunch.

  • Day 6 - Trek from Upper Pisang to Manang via Nawal

    Traveled Distance: 19.5 km

    Maximum Altitude: Manang (3,540 m/ 11614.20ft)

    Trek Duration: 5 to 6 hours

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Early morning B/F and today, we will travel the upper trail over the upper Pisang to Manang via Nawal. Nawal offers sumptuous glimpses of Annapurna II, III, IV, Tilicho, Gangapurna, and Pisang Peak. We will also proceed to the Tibetan village and tour Barge Monastery, the largest monastery in Manang with Buddhist shrines and more monasteries along the way. En-route Lunch.

  • Day 7 - Rest & Side trip Day

    Maximum Altitude: Manang (3,540 m/ 11614.20ft)

    Trek Duration: NO TREK.

    This day fix for acclimatization. We will explore Manang this Day with an early morning trip up to Gangapurna lake and adore the elegance of the panorama of Annapurna III, Pisang, Tilicho, and Chulu Peaks. After breakfast in the Hotel, we will stroll around the Manang area and monasteries. We can also tour the Himalayan Rescue Association, where we will be instructed about Mountain Sickness, its signs, and precautions.

  • Day 8 - Trek to Yar kharka

    Traveled Distance: 11 km

    Maximum Altitude: Yak Kharka (4,050 m/ 13287.80ft)

    Trek Duration: 3 to 4 hours

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    After the acclimatization day, we take fresh morning B/F and pass a stream and soar up to Tenki village, traveling out of Marshyangdi valley northwest. Then, we ascend towards the north. We will cross a few fields and juniper trees and enter a small settlement called Gunsan, where the houses are built up of smooth mud roofs. After we traverse a small river on a plank bridge, we get our way to the peaceful valley called Yak Kharka. En-route Lunch.

  • Day 9 - Trek to Thorang High Camp

    Traveled Distance: 6 km

    Maximum Altitude: Thorong Phedi (4,525 m/ 14845.80ft)

    Trek Duration: 4 to 5 hours

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Quick morning Breakfast.This day, we will head to the base of Thorong La Pass, which is termed Thorong Phedi. You will have your lunch during the trial. Today’s trial is one of the challenging route in the entire route. We’ll have to confront this difficulty and push through frigid air and rocky high-altitude routes, but the vistas from the pass will be well worth the effort. Supper and overnight at the lodge at Thorong Phedi.

    On your way north from the Thorong La Pass, you’ll view a panorama of beautiful Himalayan peaks stretching all the way to Tibet, and on your way back, you’ll see the Annapurna massifs. We descend to Muktinath after taking in the sights from the Thorong La Pass on the next day.

  • Day 10 - Trek to Muktinath via Thorang La pass

    Trek Duration: 9 hours

    After an early morning tasty breakfast, today we will trek and seek the highest pass of the world; The Thorong La Pass (5,416m). It is the most hurdling section of the Trek. Still, the majestic panoramic view of the Himalayas stretching northwards into Tibet and other prominent peaks of Annapurna makes our tour worth it. After appreciating the perfect panorama, we decline to Muktinath, one of the most significant and divine places for Hindus and Buddhists. En-route Lunch. Dinner and overnight in the Hotel at Muktinath.

  • Day 11 - Drive from Muktinath to Tatopani (natural Hot Spring) by Local bus

    Traveled Distance: 19 km

    Maximum Altitude: Jomsom (2,710m/ 8891.07ft)

    Trek Duration: 6 to 7 hours

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Quick morning visit Muktinath Temple. And today, we also have to go via ride instead of trekking only. We will drive to Tatopani via local bus. The bus ride would be severe as we will be riding through the gorges. It will go from the bare highlands to the dense green forests. Enjoy the view. Then, we reach Tatopani, the natural hot spring where we can merge and relax. En-route Lunch.

  • Day 12 - Drive from Tatopani To Pokhara by Local Bus

    Traveled Distance: 197 km

    Maximum Altitude: Tatopani (1200m / 3,940ft)

    Trek Duration: 6 to 7 hours

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Today you will be heading towards the Pokhara from Tatopani. Pokhara is one of the most popular tourist destination. As you will reach pokhara you will be delighted with the beauty of the nature. At the evening you can also visit some of the near by places and enjoy the night.

  • Day 13 - Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu & departure

    Traveled Distance: 147 km

    Maximum Altitude: Kathmandu (1300m/ 4265.09ft)

    Trip Duration: 6 hours

    Meals: Dinner

    Spend your morning in the ease of a delicious breakfast. Then, relax and enjoy the services of the Hotel, like losing yourself in the bubbly bath. After that, you may stroll around the places on your own or unwind in the Hotel. After lunch, we will have a scenic ride back to Kathmandu.

    Enjoy your last day in Nepal. A good treat a Nepali traditional cuisine will be there to bid you farewell on behalf of our trekking agency. At the time of the flight, our people will drop you at the airport. So have a great flight and choose us if you want to revisit Nepal.
