- One of the important and major highlights of the Everest base camp trek is the base of the world’s highest Mount Everest. Mt. Everest base camp lies at the altitude of 5,364 meters above the sea level. Basecamp is the camping site for the Everest expedition. It is also the destination point for every trekker who treks to Everest base camp. Since there is a trait of altitude sickness and no any teahouse on base camp trekkers stay at the small village near base camp called Gorakshep. From Everest base camp, we are rewarded with the breathtaking view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, as well majestic Khumbu glacier & icefalls, glacial rivers and snow avalanches beyond our eyes
- Kalapatthar is one of the beautiful view-points of Everest base camp trekking. It is also known as the highest point of the Everest region trek which located at the altitude of 5,545 meters. Kalapatthar is famous for the spectacular panoramic views of the world’s highest mountains. Trekkers usually hike to Kalapatthar early morning or in the evening for the sunrise and sunset views over the Himalayas. From this vantage point, you can admire the 360-degree panorama views of world highest peaks above 8,000 meters such as Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, and other mighty of peaks.
- Tengboche is the magnificent village of Everest region. It is a charming spot for close views of the world’s beautiful mountain Ama Dablam. Not the only view of Ama Dablam, it offers many other surrounding peaks whose views are simply breathtaking. Tengboche is also famous for the renowned oldest and biggest Buddhist Tengboche monastery nourishing spirit with the daily praying Buddhist monks. Also, Tengboche is famous for the Mani Rimdu Festival trekking; which is the important festival of local Sherpa people. Mani Rimdu Festival at Tengboche monastery is a 19 days series of events in annual full moon festival which usually held in Mid-October or early November as per the Tibetan Buddhist lunar calendar. However, the Tengboche monastery is the major highlight of the Everest base camp trek.
- The Khumbu glacier and Ngozumpa glacier are the biggest and longest glaciers of Nepal respectively. The Khumbu glacier is about twelve kilometers long which lies between Mt. Everest and the Nuptse-Lhotse ridge. It is also known as the world’s highest glacier consisting large icefalls & starts from the Everest base camp. You can see the best Khumbu glacier from world’s highest base camp as well Kalapatthar. Whereas, Ngozumpa glaciers are about 36 kilometers long which lies below the world’s sixth highest Mt. Cho-Oyu up to the Gokyo valley. For the breathtaking views of Ngozumpa glaciers, you have to trek to the viewpoint of Gokyo RI. Hence, these glaciers are also termed as the major highlights of Everest base camp trekking.

The landscape is impressive, bright peaks,impressive glaciers, ancient and precious monasteries are the key to sublimity.Obviously, the lovely Sherpa people,their culture and tradition add more charm to this historic trekking.We will have an exciting flight to Lukla and start guiding the adventure to Everest Base Camp in Nepal. Walking along the Dudh Koshi River, we climbed the settled settlement of the Namche Bazaar.
Trip Overview
Day 01: Fly to Lukla (2,804 m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m) 3 - 5 hours.
Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m) 5 – 7 hours.
Day 03: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day.
Day 04: Trek to Tengboche (3,860 m) 4 – 6 hours.
Day 05: Trek to Dingboche (4,350 m) 5 – 7 hours.
Day 06: Acclimatization Hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083 m) 3 – 4 hours.
Day 07: Trek to Lobuche (4,910 m) 4 – 5 hours.
Day 08: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,365 m) & walk to Gorak Shep (5,180 m) 6 – 7 hours.
Day 09: Morning Hike to Kala Patthar (5,555 m) & descend to Pheriche (4,200 m) 5 – 6 Hours
Day 10: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m) 5– 7 hours.
Day 1 1: Trek to Lukla (2,804 m) 5 – 7 hours.
Day 12: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.
Everest Base Camp Trek, is one of the most popular trekking routes in the world. This trek also provides a lifetime opportunity to see some of the most breathtaking imaginable mountain Scenery. Nepal is a fascinating country and the trek gives an insight into the lives and culture of the Sherpa community. Our ascent is steady and well traverse to best suit the acclimatization needed. Sunrise on the snow capped peaks above the Khumbu Glacier is an unforgettable sight from the summit of Kala Patthar. This Everest Base Camp trekking is also one for the lover of high places and those wanting to push themselves to the limit. It is a tough challenge and not to be taken lightly with generally well-graded paths but some tougher sections in the Khumbu glacier.
- Day 1 - Kathmandu Arrival (1,350m/4,428ft)
Our representative from Himalaya Sanctuary will meet you after landing and custom clearance in the Tribhuwan internal Airport (TIA). Following a brief introduction and Nepali welcome, we will drive you to the hotel in Thamel. Thamel, as located in the heart of the city, you can have a first-hand experience of the valley from the drive. Overnight at a hotel in Thamel Kathmandu.
- Day 2 - Kathmandu Vally Sightseeing(4-6 hrs)
After breakfast in the morning, you will be Proceed for Sightseeing place as given below.
Boudhanath Stupa, Lies about 6 km to the east of downtown Kathmandu and is the largest stupa in the valley. It looms 36 meters high and presents one of the most fascinating specimens of stupa design. Boudhanath is also known as Khasti, or dew drops, after an account that builders had to use dew to mix the mortar as Kathmandu was suffering from a severe drought during the construction of Bouddhanath.
Pasupatinath Temple, Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world and lies 5 km east of the city center. The richly ornamented pagoda houses the sacred Linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva. Chronicles indicate the temple’s existence prior to 400 AD. Devotees can be seen taking ritual dips in the holy Bagmati River flowing beside the temple.
Patan Darbar Square, Patan Durbar Square is an enchanting combination of palace buildings, artistic courtyards, and graceful pagoda temples. The former royal palace complex is the center of Patan’s religious and social life and houses a museum containing an array of bronze statues and religious objects. One remarkable monument here is a 17th-century temple dedicated to the Hindu god Krishna, built entirely of stone.
Swayambhunath Stupa, The Monkey Temple (World Heritage Site) Watches over the valley from the top of a hillock on its western side. The huge stupa is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Nepal and its establishment is linked to the creation of the Kathmandu Valley out of a primordial lake. Swayambhu is also known as Samhengu and the Monkey temple because of the countless monkeys living in the premises
Included Meal: Breakfast - Day 3 - Kathmandu – Lukla – Phakding(2,651m/8,700ft): 30 minutes flight, 3 – 5 hours trek
We take an early morning flight to Lukla and start our trek. The trail then leads to Phakding via Cheplung village from where we get a magnificent view of Mt. Khumbila, a sacred mountain that has never been summited. Overnight at Phakding
Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner - Day 4 - Phakding – Namche (3,438m/11,280 ft): 5 - 7 hours
We continue our walk on the trail that goes north up the Benkar valley. We cross Dudh Koshi River and pass Chumoa and Monjo villages leading the entrance to the Everest National Park. Then we pass Jorsale village crossing a suspension bridge and walk alongside the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. We continue our trek ascending on a steep trail and reach Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
- Day 5 - Acclimatization Day – Namche Bazaar: (3,440m/11,284ft)
We explore Namche Bazaar and hike-up to Sagarmatha National Park and enjoy the sunrise over the Himalayas including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde and so on. If we are interested in a day hike, we can trek to Khumjung village. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner - Day 6 - Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft): 4- 6 hours
The trek until Phunki is an easy walk. From here we ascend towards Tengboche village exploring the famous Tengboche monastery which is the biggest monastery of the Everest region. It is located within the Sagarmatha National Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The monastery is blessed with panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The Tengboche Monastery opens at 3:00 pm, so if we reach there by 4 o’clock we can observe a Buddhist religious ceremony.

We walk downhill to Debuche and cross the Imja River to reach Pangboche. The trek continues passing through the upper Pangboche trail and exploring the Pangboche Monastery. We continue our walk to Dingboche via Imja Valley and Lobuche River. Overnight at Dingboche.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner - Day 8 - Dingboche: Acclimatization(4,358m/14,295 ft)
Spending a day in Dingboche will help us to acclimate to the high altitude. We can spend time hiking to the hill about four hours behind Dingboche to view the world’s tallest peaks including Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Overnight at Dingboche.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner - Day 9 - Dingboche – Lobuche(4,928m/16164 ft)
The trek continues walking around 7 hours (9 km) along the Himalayan trail heading towards the famous base camp of the world’s tallest peak exploring the breathtaking magnificent view of the mountains. The trail then continues via Dughla pass to the mountain village of Lobuche for the overnight stay.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner - Day 10 - Lobuche – Gorak Shep (5,160m/16,929ft) – Everest Base Camp (5,320m/17,450ft)
Today we continue our trek to Everest Base camp walking long day nearly 12 hours (17 km) to Gorakshep. After reaching Gorak shep, check-in at the lodge, have lunch and walk to the Base Camp to enjoy amazing views of Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori mountains. Then we walk back to Gorakshep from the base camp for overnight stay.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner - Day 11 - Gorakshep – Kala Pathar (5,550m/18,204ft) – Pheriche(4200 m)
After early breakfast, we walk up to the highest point of the trek, Kalapatthar for a magnificent view of the world’s tallest Everest and several other mountains like Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse mountains. It takes about three hours to reach the top. After spending some time at the summit of Kala Patthar, we walk back to Gorak Shep for lunch which is relatively easier than hiking up to Kala Patthar. After lunch, we hike down to Pheriche to spend the night.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner - Day 12 - Trek to Namche Bazaar(3,500m/11,480ft) – 7 hours
Leaving the mountains behind us, our descent takes us through Pangboche and Tengboche before continuing to the town of Namche Bazaar. We arrive back to Namche in the afternoon. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Included Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner - Day 13 - Trek to Lukla (2,804 m) – 6 hours
This is our last day of trekking as we return to Lukla where the trek began. We enjoy this time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. The afternoon is free, so you can wander about, relax and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening, have a few celebratory drinks and dance with your trek mates. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Included Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner - Day 14 - Lukla – Kathmandu (1400 m)
We catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu after our long mountain journey. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. We take you for a cultural dinner in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Our driver will transfer you to the International Airport for your onward Destination.

Note: To avoid the risk of missing your International flight we always suggest you have 2 to 3 days extra at the end of your trip because the flight from Kathmandu – Lukla – Kathmandu Often delayed or canceled due to bad weather conditions. If the flight to Lukla is canceled for more than 3 days, then, in that case, we will possibly change the itinerary for something equally better alternative trek.
