Visit a historic spiritual place as old as the city itself and a medieval palace square. Explore Kathmandu’s Durbar Square, which served as the royal seat of the Malla dynasty that controlled Kathmandu during the medieval period. It is one of Kathmandu’s most well-known tourist attractions. It is one of Kathmandu’s most popular tourist preferences. The royal plaza is dotted with temples, royal quarters, courtyards, and the home of Kumari, the Living Goddess. Pagoda-roofed temples and regal palaces have detailly carved timber supports, windows, and brass structures. The magnificent art and architecture of Kathmandu may be seen in these historical monuments. Furthermore, durbar square is a significant socio-cultural landmark of the valley’s Newars.

The history of Swayambhunath Temple (Monkey Temple) is intertwined with that of Kathmandu Valley. From the pinnacle of the Stupa, the Buddha’s compassionate eyes look out over the city. The hilltop temple, sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists, offers panoramic views. Pashupatinath, an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the most prominent Hindu sanctuaries. ‘Pashupatinath’ literally translates to ‘protector of all living beings.’ The Hindu cremation site of Arya Ghat is nearby, on the banks of the holy river Bagmati. Hindus believe that the souls of individuals who are cremated here ascend directly to paradise. As part of your Kathmandu Valley Tour, you’ll also get to do a kora (circumambulation) around Boudhanath Stupa, Nepal’s most prominent Buddhist Stupa.
