Overview
Mardi Himal trek is one of the recently opened trekking trails in Nepal. It was officially opened after 2012(under-managed by ACAP). This easy trek will be suitable for those trekkers who love the quiet and less crowded areas. It will offer you only the basic facilities which are mandatory for trekkers. A rhododendron forest in spring makes it more colorful along with the white Annapurna range.
Mardi Himal trek is an emerging area in the Annapurna region. It offers you a close view of Mt. Fishtail also known as Machhapuchhre, Annapurna I, Gangapurna, Hiuchuli, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, and another peak. The trail from High Camp to Mardi Base Camp is thrilling on top of the hills. It will be more challenging in winter due to the snow. During trekking in this region, you will be familiar with the Gurung culture and lifestyle. This trek provides you the opportunities to know the real lifestyle of the Nepalese people who live in the Mountains. In addition, you can visit Pokhara city which is known as the queen of nature.
Best Season:
March, April, and May have beautiful weather with a rhododendron forest. Where June, July, and August will be rainy so the weather could be cloudy and rainy most of the time. September, October, and November are known as the best time periods for trekking in Mardi Himal. December, January, and February are winter seasons and temperature will be low and the trail could be full of snow
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu
Day 2: Kathmandu – Pokhara
Day 3: Pokhara to Deurali
Day 4: Deurali – Forest Camp
Day 5: Forest Camp – High Camp
Day 6: High Camp – Mardi Base Camp – High Camp
Day 7: High Camp – Siding
Day 8: Siding – Pokhara
Day 9: Pokhara – Kathmandu
Day 10: Farewell
- Day 1 - Arrival at Kathmandu
The representative of Shiva Excursion will come to Tribhuwan International Airport to welcome you. He/she will drop you at the hotel as we mention in our agreement. In the evening we could have discussed the trip.
- Day 2 - Kathmandu – Pokhara
After having breakfast at the hotel, we will walk up to the tourist Bus Park near Thamel to take a bus to Pokhara. It will take around 7hr of drive to Pokhara. For those trekkers who don’t want to drive for long hours flight options are available at extra cost.
- Day 3 - Pokhara to Deurali
We will have breakfast in the beautiful city of Pokhara. After breakfast, we will take a car/jeep up to Kande and climb to Deurali. It will be around four hours of trekking.
- Day 4 - Deurali – Forest Camp
After having breakfast at Deurali, we will follow the jungle. The trail will be gradually up through the forest for one hour and Nepali flat afterward. There are only a few teahouses and we will have an opportunity to taste fresh buffalo milk. Overnight at tea house.
- Day 5 - Forest Camp – High Camp
We will have breakfast at mid of the jungle. The trail is almost similar to yesterday. We will climb up through the forest. On the way, we will see a beautiful rhododendron forest on the way. We will see beautiful mountains view on the way. After reaching Badal danda we will be above the tree line.
- Day 6 - High Camp – Mardi Base Camp – High Camp
This one is the most important day of trekking for the view of the mountains. We will see the Fishtail, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and many more gorgeous mountains near to us. We will take some beautiful pictures for memory after reaching Mardi base camp. It will be a great time here.
- Day 7 - High Camp – Siding
After having breakfast we will start to trek down towards Siding. The trail will be similar until Low Camp which we climbed before and we will take a different route to get Siding. It is all the way down from High Camp to Siding.
- Day 8 - Siding – Pokhara
We will take a jeep back to Pokhara. The drive will be for nearly 4 hours. We will spend precious time in Pokhara by boating, cycling, and touring around the city. We will have overnight at Hotel.
- Day 9 - Pokhara – Kathmandu
We will have breakfast and take a cab up to the tourist Bus Park. We will take a bus back to Kathmandu. You will have a great night at a hotel in Kathmandu.
- Day 10 - Farewell
As per the schedule of your international flight, the representative of Shiva Excursion will come to drop you from the hotel to the airport.
- All Airports pick up and drop.
- 2 nights your standard hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast.
- 2 nights your standard hotel in Pokhara with Breakfast.
- Accommodation during trek
- All 3 meals per day during the trek [B+L+D]
- An experienced English-speaking trekking guide, assistant trek guide as per bigger size of group of trekkers: (2 trekkers:1 porter) including their salary, insurance, equipment, food and lodging
- Sleeping bag And duffel bag ( sleeping bag are to be returned after trip completion)
- All necessary paperwork and permits (ACAP Permit ) (TIMS )
- Medical supplies (first aid kit will be available)
- All government and local taxes
- Nepal Visa fee (Nepal provides on arrival visa in Immigration, bring accurate USD cash and two passport photographs,
