- Day 1 - Islamabad To Besham
Early morning pick up at 7 am, in a private car that will take you to Hassanabdal, a religious city for Sikhs where Gurdwara Panja Sahib is located.
Drive through Abbottabad City and reach Mansehra, a city of Alpine Trees. (4 hours drive)
Then, head to Besham, passing through beautiful exotic cities like Chatar Plain, Batthgram, and Pattan. Most notably, you will see the first major bridge at Thakot, passing over the river Indus.
Finally, reach Besham after a 9 hours journey.
Overnight at Family Style Hotel. - Day 2 - Besham To Gilgit
After breakfast, proceed to Chilas, which will take 6 hours on the curvy Karakoram Highway. The road is a bit risky but very scenic, even though some areas are barren.
A brief stop at Chilas city, the capital of Diamir District, ironically famous for the ‘Killer Mountain’ – Nanga Parbat.
Reach Gilgit after a brief stop to look at Nanga Parbat.
Overnight at Park Hotel or Rivera Hotel.
- Day 3 - Gilgit To Hunza
Have breakfast in Gilgit. Enjoy the scenic beauty of Hunza region as we visit Naltar Valley in 4×4 Jeeps. Naltar is famous for skiing, during the winters. It is equally attractive during the summers, for its forests and abundant river streams.
Visit Naltar Lakes, if time permits.
Reach Hunza – Karimambad, after a two hours journey and check into a hotel.
Overnight at Hunza Embassy or Hilltop.
- Day 4 - Karimabad
After breakfast, visit Altit & Baltit Fort. Baltit Fort was the residence of the Hunza Royal Family. Notably, these are the symbol of Hunza’s diverse culture and its people’s love for the land. The forts were restored by Agha Khan Foundation.
These areas give you a panoramic view of lovely Hunza Landscape. It is home to many peaks such as the Ultar Peak standing over 7000m high. The Golden Peak, as well as Rakaposhi Peaks, are also visible from here.
Overnight at Hunza Embassy or Hilltop.
- Day 5 - Passu/ Gumlit/ Khunjerab Pass
Today will be spent driving around the Hunza Valley. The area is famous for the Attabad Lake, a natural wonder known for its blue colour. The road access is very easy now and the beauty of the area is unparalleled.
Proceeding down the Karakoram highway, the road leads to Khunjerab Pass, which is the Pakistan-China International Border at 15700 ft.
Passu and Sust are famous towns of the Upper Hunza Valley and fall under Gojjal District.
Overnight at Passu Ambassador or Passu Tourist Lodge.
- Day 6 - Passu / Gulmit/ Narran/ Besham
Proceed via Karakoram Highway to Naran’s Babusar Top, which is only open from June until September. It is 10-12 hours long day.
Check into a hotel for overnight.
- Day 7 - Besham/ Narran/ Islamabad
The last leg of the journey shall commence in the morning around 8 am and 9 am.
Travel for 8 to 9 hours to reach Islamabad.
