I have been previously to Mauritius and had beautiful experiences. This time was beautiful experience turned out to be a total nightmare. We used Mauritours for transport and site seeing for three days. One of their drivers took us to a local road side shop and Yes I agree I should have checked but this guy was insisting and gave me a price for the shawl that I liked and I swear I heard right but when I paid he conveniently added a zero and was insisting I pay with my credit card which I don't have.
I clearly asked the driver to take me back and he ignored me as well. This shop is not listed they didn't give me a tax invoice and overcharged me in thousands of rands. I tried for three days trying to get some assistance and No One could assist me, what a shame is this how Mauritours deal with foreigners that's really sad what a rip off if you ask me.
Who pays R7 thousand rands for a shawl. One female came to see me at the hotel I was staying she too was a joker wanted to sell me stuff worth the price that they charged me. How is this possible.
I spoke to a Mr. Raj all are in together with the scam. No one gave me any chance or day of time to return my money as I was not interested in this shawl but was under duress to buy this shawl. A torn invoice very unprofessional.
Mauritours has fraudsters has drivers be careful as well as where they take you for their business.
they have my details and know who I am...shame on them.
they just ignore emails I sent to them, I know they know who this fraudster was in the shop and just don't care.
It is really sad since this experience I have had people not using Mauritours they with the locals are completely rip offs.
