Overview
Explore this beautiful island of Goree, a small island which retraces more than 3 centuries of slavery. The visit allows you to know you a little better the history and also allows you to discover the only site in West Africa whose colonial architecture was totally preserved, very flowery alleys that gives another image of the country Teranga.
- Day 1 - Dakar-Goree Island
Departure in the morning towards the island of Gorée, a pleasant island steeped in history and above all marked by slavery. Gorée, the site in West Africa where colonial architecture is fully preserved and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978.
Lunch will be planned by the sea in Gorée.
Return to Dakar for a city tour with the various centers of interest of the capital:
Visit of homeless neighborhoods (without financial difficulties),
the place of independence ,
the national assembly ,
the Dakar cathedral
the Great Mosque ,
the old railway station,
the presidential palace ,
the Kermel market: spices, fabrics, artisanal products,
the artisanal village of Soumbédioune
and the monument of the African renaissance.
