Slovenia is a place yet to be discovered. Small country on the south side of the Alps provide some fantastic photographic experience. The tour will take you to the best spots Slovenia has to offer. We will visit the iconic landmarks to capture them in the best light possible and will explore and wander to the less visited but photographic pearls which will give you the opportunity to create memorable images.

The workshop is designed to include all the famous landmarks of Slovenian landscape including the iconic lake Bled, Bohinj valley, breathtaking Triglav National Park and mesmerizing valley of Soča river. We will enjoy the views of the Slovenian Tuscany in Goriška Brda nad touch the Adriatic sea, while we will enjoy the local specialties and wine in Slovenian Istria. At the end, we will walk through the old town of Ljubljana and capture the vivid and bustling city life. On our workshop you will be accompanied with professional landscape photographers who will teach you new techniques and show you the best angles of the landscapes surrounding you.

  • Day 1 - Bled

    Our meeting point and start of our workshop will be in the amazing and best Slovenian landscape place - Lake Bled. We will meet in the accommodation place in the afternoon and have a short briefing about the workshop. After that, we will try the famous Bled cream cake and early dinner and depart to one of the spots on the lake shore to capture the blue hour of the iconic lake and it's island. Overnight in Bled.

  • Day 2 - Bled

    Our day will start early in the morning with the sunrise session on the shore of Lake Bled. Lake Bled sunrises are one of the best landscape photography opportunities in the world. The island with it's 17th century church and the medieval castle on the exposed rock above the lake are one of the world famous sites and attracts photographers from all over the globe. We will take advantage of the morning to visit the charming and wild Vintgar gorge and deal with some long exposure shots of the raw power of Radovna river. After shooting, we will return to our accomodation for breakfast and some time to relax. Afternoon is a nice time to spend in the Bohinj Valley, visiting the biggest lake in Slovenia and see it from different angles. The sunset session will be at the St. John church and the bridge at the end of the lake. Overnight in Bled.

  • Day 3 - Bovec

    The morning will find us on the second most famous spot in the region - Jamnik and St. Primus church. Steve McCurry, known about the famous portrait of the "Afghan girl" was here in early 90's, when he was on assignment for National Geographic for the Yugoslavia story and captured controversial photograph of the church with the rising full moon behind the mountain, which was doubted by many photographers for being manipulated or not. Anyway, the church stands on the top of the hill with the beautiful background of Mt. Storžič. After the sunrise session, we will return to our accommodation, have breakfast and leave for Triglav National Park. On our way, we will pass the highest mountain pass in Slovenia with 1611m on the top and windy road will bring us to Trenta valley, with the enchanting turquoise river of Soča. Surrounded by the high mountains of the Julian Alps, the river and it's special color is a grateful photographic motive. Our accommodation will be in the town of Bovec or Log pod Mangrtom and in the evening, according to the weather, we can organize an optional astro-photography workshop in one of the mountain passes of Slovenia or at leasure. Overnight in Bovec or Log pod Mangrtom.

  • Day 4 - Nova Gorica

    Late morning breakfast and departure to the south. We will follow the iconic Soča river to the town of Kobarid where the famous Isonzo front of the World War I took place. The town was the center of the famous Battle of Caporetto, where Austro-Hungarian and German troops break through the Italian defences in 1917, forcing them to retreat all the way to Piava river. There is an architectural beauty in the WW I Ossuary, surrounding the church of St. Anthony and there is a short walk to the beautiful Kozjak Waterfall, hidden in a small crack under the sharp edges of Mountain Krn. Our way will proceed down the Soča valley coming to the border area between Slovenia and Italy, where in the Tuscany-like hills, small villages and farms were build in the medieval time. Goriška Brda is one of the main wine production places and the views across the Friuli plain and hills are fantastic. We will took the sunset session in one of the viewpoints above the charming area and enjoy the traditional dinner with some local delicacies. Overnight in Šmartno v Goriških brdih.

  • Day 5 - Piran

    Morning cruise through the charming old villages of Goriška Brda and several stops for capturing pasture and beauty of the hills, farms, vineyards and churches. The views are breathtaking and the old architecture is a nice decor to every photo taken. Return to accommodation and breakfast. Transport to the Slovenian coast to our accommodation in the Venetian town of Piran. The town is laying on the sharp penninsula in the Adriatic coast and was famous about it's production and sale of Salt from the nearby salt fields. Afternoon city walk through the narrow streets of Piran and street photography workshop or time at leasure. Sunset session on the defensive wall of Piran and Blue hour session in the town center. Overnight in Piran or Portorose.

  • Day 6 - Piran - Ljubljana

    Late morning and breakfast at accommodation. Departure for Ljubljana. On the way, we stop in the wild natural wonder of Rakov Škocjan. The river Rak is a karstic river which flows through several caves in the Cerknica field till finally disappears underground in Tkalca cave. Short walk in the area and departure to Ljubljana. Afternoon at leasure in the old town and late afternoon Ljubljana photo walk and sunset from the castle hill. Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia and the biggest city in the country. The medieval old town is flooded with small, charming shops, cafes and restaurants. The streets are covered with the cobblestone and the famous landmarks such as the Dragon Bridge, Triple Bridge, National Library and others are in reach of a short walk. Overnight in Ljubljana.

  • Day 7 - St. Thomas, Velika Planina

    For the last morning session, we will drive to the viewpoint of one of the world's best landscape locations - St. Thomas church above Praprotno village. The lonely church on the top of the hill, with the background of the mighty Kamnik and Savinja Alps get's lovely illumination from the sun rays and recently become one of the most photographed places in the region. Return to the accommodation for breakfast and at leasure. Afternoon drive to the pasture area of Velika Planina, where we will round up our workshop with the sunset session of old kind of farming houses scattered all over the top plateau with the background view on the Alps. Return and overnight in Ljubljana.

  • Day 8 - Ljubljana

    Evaluation of photographs, official end of the tour and departure.

  • The price include tuition fee, accommodation fees, transport, parking fees, entrance fees when needed, breakfasts and dinners, water on the tour.
