Highlights

  • Have an adventure working hands-on with various species of Costa Rica’s wildlife, while learning about their basic biology, ecology, conservation, proper management, husbandry, nutrition and behavior.
  • Work with professionals in wildlife rehabilitation of rescued terrestrial and marine wildlife, actively be involved in the daily management of wildlife in a wildlife sanctuary and wildlife rescue center, and their conservation management of different species in the region.
  • Learn about the conservation issues and challenges in conservation in Costa Rica and around the world, and apply your gained knowledge to create practical solutions.
  • Experience amazing days alongside professional biologists working in diverse conservation projects, from butterfly investigation projects, turtle conservation, reforestation project, macaw reproduction project and our wildlife rescue center.
  • Visit a local sea turtle conservation project to learn their efforts and how they protect and help these species. Depending on the season students will be able to participate in hatchling releases.

Overview

Our organization offers exciting educational hands-on experiences of a lifetime to students and individuals who want to study abroad and travel to Costa Rica.

Students will be able to experience Costa Rica’s wildlife in the pacific coast and have a glimpse of the day to day that awaits in their professional life.

We offer 2 short-term experiences:

1. Tropical and Marine Ecology.

2. Wildlife Veterinary Medicine In Conservation.

Both programs include hands-on experience guided by experts, accomodation, meals, local transportation and recreation.

The courses are for pre-veterinary students, vet students, and students in the field of animal science, zoology, conservation and people ages 16 and above who love animals!

Our focus is on conservation programs in Costa Rica that offer hands-on animal education and travel adventure while supporting animal welfare and local conservation organizations especially our partner Kids Saving the Rainforest.

  • Accommodations with WiFi, all meals on site: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (extra meals/snacks/drinks bought by students are not included), laboratory/practical activities, facility fees, excursions, field trips, entrance fees, field supplies, daily transportation, airport transfers.
  • Airfare, medical insurance, passport, snacks, and any COVID vaccinations or testing required.
