Find out more about:
Bali may be one of the most beautiful countries in the world, but unfortunately over 160,000 members of its population live below the poverty line. Corruption and unfair distribution of resources led to this disparity refusing many parents the chance to attend school or to learn to read and write. Furthermore, the rising poverty rates make it impossible for parents to afford schooling for their children and thus the problem is compounded. As a volunteer in a Bali orphanage, your aid can directly change the lives of children who wouldn’t otherwise receive an education.
When you choose to volunteer in a Bali orphanage, you are granting parents the freedom to raise more money for their family full well knowing that their children are in safe hands. Without the income to afford a nanny or babysitter, you provide the only help parents have when it comes to childcare and that will mean the world to local families.
Apart from providing meaningful and lasting work during your volunteer project in a Bali orphanage, you will also enjoy time to explore the many temples, beaches and hikes that span the picturesque island. Your accommodation will be within walking distance from everything guaranteeing a fully immersive and life changing experience!
There are no specific skills or qualifications required to volunteer with kids in Bali, but however we recommend that you have a strong conviction to work with children. Most of your day will be spent tending and caring for children, so it will be best to adopt a warm, patient and compassionate personality when working. Undoubtedly, you must truly feel enthusiastic about raising young children into the proud, successful men and women that they deserve to grow into.
Volunteering in a Bali Orphanage requires volunteers to spend most of their time working with local children and families. Your imagination, creativity and fluidness are your only boundaries during this program as you will enjoy great autonomy to organize and oversea events and activities throughout the day. Your general work will include but is not limited to teaching English, cleaning, cooking and feeding the children. Supplemental tasks will vary based upon what you enjoy and hope to share with the children. You will act as a teacher, friend and mentor to these children and thus your influence will have a great effect. The kids are waiting!
There’s no doubt that Bali is one of the most sought out travel destinations on earth. Sandy beaches, volcanic mountains and ancient temples invite travelers from all over the world, but despite its incredible appeal, Bali citizens suffer greatly at times. Incredible corruption, misspent finances and the poor distribution of resources has left thousands of families to fend for their own. Unfortunately, the rich are getting richer and the poor, poorer, which is leaving many families without access to basic needs including health care, water, food and proper sanitation needs. Worst of all, families can’t afford an education so that their children better their own living circumstances. As a volunteer teaching English in Bali, it is your job to reverse the trend!
When volunteering in Bali teaching English, you will have the chance to share your language assets and skills with the youthful generation in hopes of establishing a brighter future for the people of Bali. As a teacher, your experience will help sculpt and craft the curriculum, but you are also free to impart any particular activities and exercises you think might greatly help the students learn English faster!
Travel to Asia and become a sea turtle conservationist volunteer in Bali. Beside Bali lies Kuta, a serene and eternally peaceful island home to hundreds of various maritime and aviary species. Divers from all over the world often visit Kuta to explore the island’s remarkable dive sites as well as swim with the massive sea turtle populations that roam the waters just off its shores. Unfortunately, illegal poaching, corruption and tourism has drastically reduced these sea turtle populations. Now, out of 1000 baby turtles, 999 will never make it back to the beach where they were born due to these reasons. Their bodies will be sold to hotels, the meat cut to shreds for ludicrous prices and their shells skinned for souvenirs. It is your job to help prevent this epidemic and to help stop illegal trappings and deadly trash from killing the sea turtle population!
Through our sea turtle volunteer project in Kuta, Bali, you will join a dedicated team of like minded volunteers all seeking to aid the rapidly declining sea turtle populations. Lace your boots up, bend your knees and get your hands dirty to help prevent illegal poaches. Travel the beaches exploring nesting sites, aiding newly hatched babies and providing the difference needed to reverse the trend.

When volunteering in Bali with sea turtle conservation programs, you will work on a variety of different tasks. No role is ever the same, no day ever boring so prepare for an exciting and ever-changing itinerary. Your basic tasks will include but are not limited to the flowing actions.
Bali is one of the world’s most popular hotspots for tourism and as a result over $5.5 billion dollars are left there every year in the wake of tourists. The country has become one of the most densely concentrated centers of wealth on Earth yet corruption and illegal practices have resulted in adverse effects. At the same time that hotels are charging insane fees for paradisiacal stays, poachers are capturing turtles because they can’t find work. The influx of money sadly never reaches the lower echelons of the Balinese social structure thus leaving many without the proper food, water, sanitation means and basic infrastructure they need to survive. As a sea turtle conservationist volunteer and English teaching volunteer, you can help reverse this tread and inspire change for future generations.
Our sea turtle conservation and English teaching volunteer program combines two projects into one. You will spend time working in both the marine conservation field aiding sea turtle populations and preventing malpractice as well as attending a local primary school where you will teach English to Balinese children and educate them on how to combat issues of poverty and corruption.
Most of your mornings as a volunteer teaching in Bali will beget teaching in either English, Chinese, French, Italian, Spanish or German, based upon your preference. It is essential that you educate effective communication skills every day. Since the island so strongly revolves around tourism, by instilling communication skills in the younger generation, you can ensure a successful future for their families.
During the days, you will work as a sea turtle conservation volunteer in Bali. While teaching calls for incredible intellectual demands, your days will ask for more physical requirements. Get your hands dirty and save the endangered sea turtle species that visit the islands around Bali. Your job will be to protect, maintain and revive the sea turtle populations as well as collect, nurture and document data regarding hatchlings.
From the classroom to the pristine sandy beach, your work as a sea turtle conservation and primary school education volunteer in Bali could make the difference for thousands.
To apply to become a volunteer teacher and conservationist in Bali, you do not require any prior skills or qualifications. We do recommend however a resilient spirit as your days will be rather hectic in comparison with other programs. But with such business, comes great reward! This program can change your life!

What language do they speak in Bali?
Most people during your Bali volunteer opportunity will speak either Indonesian or Balinese, but however since the country relies so heavily on tourism, you will find a plethora of English speakers as well.
How long am I allowed to volunteer in Bali?
Most countries only allow non-working tourists to stay for a maximum of 12 weeks, so our projects vary between 1 and 12 weeks, but however if you wish to stay longer, please contact us before. In many cases, arrangements can be made to accommodate a stay as long as you want, even if it surpasses 12 weeks.
How will I wash my clothes during my volunteer program in Bali?
Costs of laundry are not included in the program fee. Because of the nature of Bali, you may find yourself living in an area without readily accessible laundry machines. We recommend bringing enough clothes to wait out these periods of time.
How do I handle my money? The ATM’s? Debit and credit cards?
You will find during your volunteer program in Bali that all the major cities have ATMs but only few will accept international debt and credit cards. Most international banks will charge a $2-4 USD fee for each transaction and a supplemental international fee may also be assessed. Take note that high-end restaurants and hotels all accept MasterCard, American Express, Visa and Cirrus/Maestro. In any case, make sure to inform your bank prior to your travels. A freeze on your account is the last thing you want abroad.
What should I bring to wear when volunteering in Bali?
Bali has a tropical climate, but we recommend dressing conservatively. This means that jeans and t-shirts are strongly advised whereas tank tops and short-shorts are not. Understand that when volunteering in Bali and living amongst a religious people, it is appropriate to respect their traditions and dress in an acceptable fashion.
What should I pack?
